Remarks: What makes SOTL (Servant of the Lord BBS) special
for users here on the Internet is the fact that Reverend
Wootten has made them available via email. There is an ex-
cellent collection of files and services available.

We surveyed the files on November 26, 1994, to give you a
a list of files returned by the server at that time. Review
the files named sotlbbs.files1.txt through sotlbbs.files2.txt.

To retreive files from SOTL, simply send your email request
to getfile@sotl.com. In the body of your message, send (only)
the filename you want returned to you. Note that it may take
awhile before the file is returned, but you'll find that it's
worth waiting for.

SOTL provides access to the latest in Christian Apologetics, Theology,
Bible Studies, Bibles on Disk, Cult and Occult Information, Alcohol and
Drug Abuse, Music, Prophecy, Fact Sheets, WINDOWS programs, and more!
SOTL provides access to three Christian networks plus the INTERNET.
We have interactive chat for all through both nodes. Interactive games
and other activities are provided through the doors. There is even a
file area dedicated to help you study the Bible in one year! If you are
a scanner buff, we've just opened a file area for scanner enthusiasts
in Central Virginia. Newsletters and Magazines abound for your reading
enjoyment.

the ON-LINE BIBLE COLLEGE catalogue.

OLBC-CAT.ZIP is the TEXT-ONLY version
of the ON-LINE BIBLE COLLEGE catalogue.

Keep in mind that our connection is
long distance. Please limit file
requests to not more than 800,000 bytes

The AUTOREPLY processor will return custom text files as messages.
Document integration is seamless because requests are addressed to
the document itself, not a processor which finds and sends the file.
This is called DOCUMENT ALIASING.

wcARCHIE allows you to maintain as many DOCUMENT ALIAS names as you
want. These names are actual Wildcat! user names that are linked to
document filenames in AUTOREP.LST.

+ SERVANT OF THE LORD BBS +

Servant of the Lord BBS wishes to extend a warm welcome to you
as a FREEUSER! Look around the BBS, get to know it, and hopefully
get good use from it. If you are a seasoned user of this BBS, well,
WELCOME AGAIN! The security changes have been made and it is now
fair access for everyone. Every one reading this has the security
level of NEWUSER. The other levels are MEMBER, REGISTERED USER, and
VISITING SYSOP. The extra level is for STUDENT of the On Line Bible
College.

The best way to increase your online time and have access to
well over 30,000 files and the national message echoes is to become
a member of Servant of the Lord. This BBS is NOT a pay-to-use BBS:
membership is free to those who request it. Simply read the below
file MEMBER.ZIP (or MEMBER.APP) and follow the instructions. Once
they have been successfully followed, the FREEUSER's security will
be raised from 30 minutes per day to the appropriate time level so
that you may have the appropriate BBS time, access to writing or
posting to the national echoes, and the games, and more.

Servant of the Lord BBS has several sections within it. There
are Prayer & Praise, Bible lessons, Bible quizzes, Bible games;
Christian materials and files such as the international Morning
Star Magazine, newsletters, magazines, and more that can be
downloaded or read on-line with the help of DATAVIEW, simply by
pressing [V]iew at any file prompt. The state, regional, and
local weather for Virginia is available from the Bulletin Menu, as
well as the statistics for this board and other information
critical to your use of Servant of the Lord.

The latest and greatest shareware and public domain files are
here by the thousands. There are standard "most popular" download
programs to help you make good use of your PC; many good programs
from the Christian Distribution Network utilized for personal Bible
study, or for organizing your church.

For other types of programming needs that are not immediately
available on Servant of the Lord, we offer a procedure called the
"File Wishing Well", available from the "doors section," accessible
from the Main Menu. You can ask for files that are not on this
board, or even the offline files, from the File Wishing Well.
Servant of the Lord will have it available for you the next day or
hunt it down elsewhere to get it for you. Because of space, many
files have been flagged as offline. You can press the [D]ownload
key for any of those files and an automatic message will be sent to
me. The file you want will be online within 24 hours of your call.

Another addition to help you find the files you need is
the ROMBRAIN CDROM door. You can search every single CDROM
I have at one time or individually and download direct from
that door! Just press [X] from the FILES MENU.

Servant of the Lord uses PKZIP and PKUNZIP version 204g for
file compression/decompression. If you do not have this latest
version, then download PKZ204G.EXE from the files menu. Copy it to
your utilities directory, type the file name, enter, and there you
have it. It will decompress automatically. The wonders of modern
technology!

There are almost 140 message bases from local to around the
world. You can correspond with people in the mission field in
Australia, South Africa, or many other countries, either through
the INTERNET or through the other three conferences offered.

Use of the off-line readers is encouraged, such as OLX-TD.EXE.
This allows you to download the message bases, read the messages on
your own PC, at your own leisure, reply to the messages or create
your own messages and upload the replies to the Servant of the Lord
for further transfer.

I want to encourage you to use the Tomcat Mail door as it will
save you on-line time and money if you are a long-distance caller.
If you don't have a mail reader, there are several on-line
available for download. I recommend one called Off-Line Express
(OLX-TD.EXE) because it is written by the same folks who wrote the
Tomcat Mail Door.

The first time you use the mail door it will ask you to
configure it. Take a few minutes and do that. It will also send you
lots of mail the first time but will only send you the mail that
you have not downloaded the second time...smart program...you can
write your replies off-line and then call back and upload them in
a few seconds...lots of time savings!

After you get set up, you can go directly to the mail door by
adding an exclamation point (!) before your name and you will
bypass all the opening screens. This will occur when the automatic
logon procedures are restored. At the present time, only Registered
Users and Students have automatic logon access.

Additionally, the files you will need include the above
and also SOTLAREA.ZIP, a file that explains this board's listings
more fully. If you have never navigated a WILDCAT! BBS, like this
one, then download a file called INTERCAT.ZIP. This file is an
interactive tutorial.

If you have any difficulty in using the functions within the
BBS, leave a note for the SysOp, trying to explain the difficulty
so that it may be investigated.

read more about it.
